History
We were founded in 1975 as a wholesale bacon company. However, after becoming frustrated with the deteriorating quality of bacon available for the UK consumer in 1998 we began producing and curing our own bacon & gammon as we saw a gap in the market for a truly premium great tasting product. After many tasting and recipe challenges we finally found the great tasting product we were looking for and the Cheshire oak bacon brand was born.
Fast forward to today the Cheshire Oak brand has firmly established itself as the premium bacon and gammon brand in the industry and the benchmark for quality and taste.
The highest quality from start to finish
Whether you require your products smoked, using out in-house smoker, or sliced you can be assured that by choosing our products you have already taken your first step to giving your customer the very best.
We source our pork from only trusted suppliers that we have dealt with for many years. They share our values on animal welfare, traceability and hygene standards that provide us with the constant quality that makes our products consistently good all of the time. We insist all our suppliers have the BRCGS global standard.
We have a wealth of curing and butchering experience within our business
All our employees hold food hygene certificates and understand the high standards that we set for Hall and Roberts.

We employ 50 full time members of staff and are based in Widnes Cheshire, and actively support our local sport team and charitable institutions.
The original bacon wholesale business is still part of Hall & Roberts and is run from a unit nearby to our main curing factory.
As well as being stockists of our Cheshire Oak Bacon & gammon products they supply a wide range of other butchery products for the independent retailers.
