Food Safety

At Hall & Roberts (Provisions) Ltd we adhere to the highest possible standards of Food safety and hygiene. Once again we have attained Grade AA in BRCGS Global Standard for food safety Issue 9.This is the highest attainable standard a company can achieve and we are justifiably proud of our factory and we feel this commendation reflects this.

We operate a rigorous internal quality management system in accordance with HACCP principles, which covers complete traceability from farm to fork.

In addition to full traceability we have full time factory cleaning staff that ensure our production operatives are working in the cleanest possible environment. Aligned to this we operate mid shift and a comprehensive end of shift cleaning schedule every day.

H&R strongly believe in investing in our employees. Every member of our production, butchery and cleaning team hold food safety certificates.

We have invested significantly in digital controlled state of the art refrigeration to ensure that goods meet required food safety standards. These fridge temperatures are updated every minute of every day, and if there are any variation from our optimum temperatures, any issues can be immediately rectified by our onsite engineers.

We also have in invested in a new bespoke internal traceability system so food traces can be done in the touch of a button, ensuring peace of mind for all of our customers.

BRCGS

BRCGS Global Food Safety Standard

The BRCGS Global Food Safety Standard has set the benchmark for nearly 25 years. Adopted by over 22,000 sites in more than 130 countries, the standard is accepted by 70% of the top 10 global retailers, 60% of the top 10 quick-service restaurants, and 50% of the top 25 manufacturers. Now in its 9th edition, the standard has constantly evolved to protect the consumer. It was the first standard to be GFSI benchmarked, as well as introduce food safety culture requirements, define food fraud, and reduce audit burden through additional modules. The Food Safety standard is the leading Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI) scheme, and the most widely accepted by specifiers, brands and retailers. Manufacturers with the BRCGS certification have many food safety benefits and have been shown to perform better than both non-certified sites, as well as those with other GFSI programmes. A clear point of difference between BRCGS Food Safety and other certification schemes is a compliance programme that provides control over the operational delivery of its certification programmes. This includes delivery partner performance management, and management of auditor competence based on exams and food safety training.
